Adult Faith Formation exists at St Brendan in order to help fulfill the parish vision to “become who you were created to be.” To help accomplish this our mission statement and our hope is that “St. Brendan Parish is your home to encounter Jesus and grow in virtue.”
The Adult Faith Formation program offers a variety of bible studies, book groups, talks, events, and men’s, women’s and family programming for those seeking, those striving, and those sharing their faith.
These opportunities to grow in knowledge of your Catholic faith are available year round. In addition to growing in knowledge of your Catholic faith, you will see how your community grows as you develop strong friendships, rooted in Christ, with the other participants!
God hasn’t stopped speaking. We’ve stopped listening.
We yearn for God’s direction. We want to hear His voice and know His will. Learning to listen to the voice of God will change your life powerfully and wonderfully.
Please join us to discuss Three Ordinary Voices of God, your gift this Christmas, in the Davidson Room for a morning or evening session, January 16 (chapters 1 & 2) and 23 (chapters 3 & 4), and February 6 (chapter 5 & epilogue). Morning sessions are 9-10:30 AM with childcare provided up to age 5. Evening sessions are 7-8:30 PM. Please register at the links below. Miss getting a book? St Brendan and the Knights of Columbus will host date nights for you!
We’ll provide dinner and take care of the kids (up to 5 years old) while you enjoy making new friends with other couples in the parish beginning on Friday, January 31, 6:30-8 PM. Share your stories and learn from other Catholic couples about the joys and challenges of marriage and raising children over dinner and social time. The Knights of Columbus will introduce a five-part video series entitled “The Mission of the Family“ for viewing and small group discussion. It explores the beauty and greatness of God’s gift of marriage and the family to help couples understand their roles in building a strong Catholic family in which they help each other get to heaven and teach their children how to love and live as disciples of Christ. Matthew presents Jesus as the Royal “Messiah” – the “Anointed One”. He is the “shoot” of the line of King David long, awaited by the Jews and the fulfillment of the Old Covenant. He shows Jesus as the Man and the King who asks: “Who do you say that I am?” (16:15). Jesus of Nazareth is the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy. His words and actions show a power and authority greater than any before Him and lay the very foundations of His Church.
Come journey with us as we come to know Jesus in our hearts through the Gospel of Matthew in this 25 week study with video content and discussion. Sessions are held on Mondays from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM in Wellniz Hall. We began on September 9, but welcome others to join us for our second half, ending on March 31. All materials are provided.
