Parish Missions

St Brendan typically holds two missions a year; one during Lent and a smaller mission in the fall. Through these missions, we hope to help our parishioners dive further into their faith and enter into the beautiful seasons of Lent and Advent more completely.

2018 Lenten Mission

St Brendan Parishioners, please note that space is limited. Seating will be on a first come, first-served basis.

Fr. Larry Richards, a popular Conference Speaker and pastor from Erie, PA, will conduct a four-day mission for parishioners of St Brendan the Navigator. The purpose of our mission is to assist our parishioners growing in their love for God and give them hope and direction in their daily lives.

Fr. Larry promises two things to mission attendees: “You will never be bored, and your life will be changed forever!”

COST: FREE (there will be a free-will offering on the last night of the mission)

Fr. Larry Richards has conducted hundreds of parish missions, conferences, and retreats. He is known to make the love of God real in his presentations. Fr. Larry is the founder of “The Reason for Our Hope Foundation” and has many Media presentations on “The Truth,” “The Mass explained,” and “Confession,” with hundreds of thousands distributed worldwide. At all his parish missions Fr. Larry promises two things: One, you will never be bored and two, your life will be changed forever. Come and experience this truth for yourself. Each night of the Parish Mission has a different theme:

Monday: A mission talk on knowing God’s love and practical information on how to pray
Tuesday: Mass with a mission talk on the love of others and the importance of family
Wednesday: Mission talk on the Passion of Christ and repentance, followed by the opportunity for individual confession
Thursday: God’s Healing: A night of reflection, healing, and Adoration

The last two nights of the mission are geared toward persons 6th grade and up.

Books, CDs, and DVDs from The Reason for Our Hope Foundation will be available for sale each evening.

The POD Nursery will be open each night of the Mission from 6:30 to 9:30 PM.

Parish Mission Prayer

Holy Father, great God of love and mercy, You have surrendered everything for love of us. May we learn to surrender everything for love You. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit that we may do Your will and not our own. Help us to love You above all things and to love Your people the way You have commanded us. Quiet our minds and hearts that we may be open to the gift of Your truth, and grant that our parish mission may be: a time of grace for all, a time of growth for the young, a time of refreshment for the old, a time of renewal for families, a time of healing for the broken, a time of joy for the sorrowing, a time of challenge for the complacent, a time of forgiveness for the sinner, a time of strength for the holy, a time of homecoming for all who have been away. We beg You these things, Holy Father, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
