Saturday, the team completed the main floor stair landing, installed both sets of stairs, constructed guardrails for each set of stairs, completed applying OSB to the main truss heels, applied OSB to the back porch gable truss, completed installing the 2x6 corners on the east and west walls, continued applying insulation stop sheathing along the west second floor wall, decked the floor of the cubby area opposite the second floor stairs, and framed the back gable wall. Seehttp://www.hilliardhabitat.org/Genessee/ for some photos from the day.
This week we plan to concentrate on any tasks that must be done before the roofers can apply the roof sheathing. This includes sheathing the rear gable wall and adding the support to mirror the truss profile, building the front gable wall, securing the tops of the front porch trusses, adding 2x6 sub-fascia around the entire perimeter of the house, adding the truss connectors at the top of the main trusses, and adding the peak trusses and spacers. We will also continue with interior wall framing and insulation stop sheathing.
Please let Bonnie know by noon Thursday if you can work this coming Saturday at stbrendanhabitat@gmail.com or 582-4126.
